PowerToys 0.35.0 is available for download

Microsoft has completed the PowerToys 0.35.0 and they can now be updated directly in the settings or downloaded from GitHub. In the next week, there will be the experimental version 0.36 with video conferencing. The new version 0.36.0 released and available here.

From version 0.35, PowerToys will only run on Windows 10 1903 or higher. .NET Core has been updated to version 3.1.13. But other errors have also been corrected.

The new PowerToys version is numbered 0.35 and was released as a "stable" version. Users of the tool collection can now try out innovation for the FancyZones. The development team has now added hotkeys and quick swap functions for user-defined layouts. PowerToys users can now assign a hotkey in the editor and use it to quickly set the zones of a desktop with the key combination Ctrl + Win + Alt + NUMBER, or by pressing the hotkey while dragging a window.

Highlights from v0.35 Stable / 0.36 Experimental

General:

  • PowerToys version 0.35.x or higher will require Windows 10 v1903 or higher. The v1 settings that older Windows versions support will be removed in 0.37.
  • Note: We may be able to bring support back when we migrate to WinUI3, but as of now we will be increasing the minimum Windows version to 1903 or higher.
  • Localization fixes: Improved GitHub report template for bugs.
  • Update .NET Core to 3.1.13
  • Fixed regression of the installer 'run as user'
