Microsoft Edge: Activate search engine in the address bar by double-clicking

In Microsoft Edge, you can easily search for terms in various search engines using the address bar. We already showed you how to make it even easier.

But that had a disadvantage. If you had entered Duck for DuckDuckgo and now simply want to enter Duck dich in the address line (I can't think of anything better), the search engine would jump right after the space. Microsoft has recently changed this in the Canary with a flag. The flag "Omnibox Double-Space Keyword Triggering" (# omnibox-double-space-keyword-triggering) has now been added for this purpose.

Simply search for Omnibox Double in the edge: // flags / and activate the flag. After a restart you enter the letter or the word for the search engine and then two spaces and the search engine appears. You can now enter your word or words and have them searched for. Here as an animation:

Another new flag is the "Omnibox Pedals batch 2". "Activate the second set of Omnibox Pedal suggestions (Sync, etc.). This flag has no effect if "Omnibox Pedal suggestions" is not activated."

This allows further settings to be opened directly via the address line. Microsoft has already integrated the option of settings via the address bar in the current Canary. In contrast to Chrome, the function was built in natively. The function was integrated in Google Chrome and natively in Microsoft Edge. Let's see how comfortable it will be.
