Microsoft Edge and Chrome - set up and start the search engine in the address bar with just one letter

All browsers have different search engines in the settings that can be set as standard. Vivaldi and Opera are ahead of Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge in the standard settings. Because both only use one letter as an abbreviation for the search engine.

In Chrome and Edge, the complete names are entered by default. So google.com, bing.com and you have to type them in before you can start the search. But that can be changed. In the settings you can change the keyword for the individual search engines, so that it is sufficient to enter a b for Bing space search word and confirm with Enter.

Both teams could have set it that way by default. But of course, this small change also works. Which letters you use is up to you. But I guess b (Bing), g (google), d (duckduckgo), e (ecosia), s (startpage), q (quant), y (yahoo) and w (wikipedia) are the most common for the individual Search engines.
