Intel Core i9-11900K beats Ryzen 9 5900X in Full HD: up to 8% more FPS

Intel's benchmarks are leaked in which the i9-11900K would have more gaming performance than the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X. The test bench does not appear, but there is another comparison with the i9-10900K in which it also loses against its successor.

Against all odds, the Intel Rocket Lake-S would be more powerful than the Ryzen 5000, despite other leaks pointing to the contrary. In this case, the i9-10900K and Ryzen 9 5900X are compared to the i9-11900K, whose novelty is in its 8 cores and 16 threads. The games tested are very demanding, but is this chip worth buying?

Rocket Lake-S Intel Core i7 and i9 Specs Leaked

The official list of Intel Core i7 and i9 processors that will line up in the Rocket Lake-S family has already been leaked. More or less, it was known what benefits they will have, but to leave no doubts here we leave you the entire Intel table.

The conclusions we draw are the following:

  • Intel Thermal Velocity Boost (1-core turbo) will only be present in the i9, as many pointed out.
  • The Intel Core i7 will continue without going beyond 5.0 GHz.
  • The i7-11700 will remain a great option with a base frequency of 2.5 GHz and a turbo of 4.9 GHz.
  • Lowering of cores and cache memory in the i9.
  • The UHD Graphics 750 iGPUs with new codecs are confirmed, as well as the absence of iGPU in the “F” or “KF” models.
  • As for the comparison of the i9-11900K and the i9-10900K, our colleague Gustavo covered this news this morning.

Ryzen 9 5900X vs i9-11900K: more FPS for Intel at 1080p

To begin, we have no data from the test used by Intel, and the conditions in which the i9-11900K would be configured. It must be said that the i7-11700K have been tested and were very hot when they were raised in frequency, so we will be cautious until new reviews.

The slides that Intel has prepared have been leaked, and the news is in a comparison between the i9-11900K and the Ryzen 9 5900X, making it clear that the Intel chip is superior to AMD in gaming. Intel only expresses percentages, so we don't know what difference FPS it makes; yes, only the data has been filtered in 1080p.

Make it clear that the Ryzen 9 5900X is AMD's most powerful chip, as far as gaming is concerned, with hardly any difference from the 5950X. Also, it comes with 12 cores, compared to 8 cores in the i9-11900K.

The differences are distributed in this way:

Game FPS difference
Total War: Three Kingdoms 8%
Gears of war 5 5%
Metro Exodus 5%
Cyberpunk 2077 4%
Watch Dogs: Legion 4%
Far Cry: New Dawn 3%
Assasin's Creed Valhalla 2%

It seems little, right? With that said, let's see what prices we could expect from the i9-11900K and compare it to the Ryzen 9 5900X :

  • Ryzen 9 5900X: Out of stock, but its last price was approximately € 859.

Intel Core i9-11900K: a price of about $ 599 is expected, which will be just over € 620. This screenshot is from an online store that accidentally leaked the new Intel Rocket Lake-S.

We would be talking about a difference of more than € 200, so we could see many users hesitating in their enthusiastic processor choice in 2021. However, wait for the reviews to test both chips and compare them.

Do you expect big differences in FPS? Do you think Intel has swept a lot at home?
