Microsoft Surface Laptop 4, leak indicates models with AMD Ryzen

A new leak reveals that Microsoft intends for its Surface Laptop 4 laptops to launch with Intel and AMD processors.

Twitter user “WalkingCat” has discovered two support pages on Microsoft's site that mention AMD CPUs for the Surface Laptop 4.

The 3DMark 11 listings from early 2020 were already showing that Microsoft was working on a Surface product equipped with a Ryzen 5 4500U APU and a Radeon RX 5300M GPU. Later, other Surface devices with a Ryzen 7 4800U also leaked.

The pages discovered in the last hours do not go into much detail about which is the chosen Ryzen generation or CPU models, but it is very possible that it is the new Ryzen 5000U 'Cezanne' APUs.

The last known specifications were published by WinFuture in the month of March and are as follows:

Currently, Microsoft uses AMD processors only in the 15-inch variant of the Surface Laptop 3, and only one configuration of that model is currently available through the Microsoft Store. The prominence of Ryzen APU processors has increased in the notebook segment and Microsoft is trying to jump on the bandwagon.
