How to Turn Off “Before you go to Google Search” Annoying GDPR Pop-Up Permanently

The Google privacy notice "Before you continue" can be quite annoying in everyday life. Our instructions show how you can switch off the pop-up permanently.

The General Data Protection Regulation ( GDPR ) of the European Union, which has been in force since 2018, does not stop at Google.

On individual Google websites such as Google Search and YouTube, you must therefore confirm the pop-up message "Before you continue" before you can use it.

By doing so, you consent to the collection of certain user data and the storage of Google cookies in your web browser.

Google also saves your consent in a cookie, which is why you normally only see the message once. However, if you regularly delete your cookies or frequently use incognito mode, you will see the message "Before you continue" again and again.

With the help of a special ad blocker rule, you can switch off the "Before you continue" pop-up without any problems. We'll show you how to do this using the popular ad blockers uBlock Origin and Adguard. If you are looking for VPN solutions check here.

2. Under user rules you insert the following two lines and close the settings again:

  • google. * ## html: style (overflow: auto! Important)

3. Google then no longer shows you the message "Before you continue" and you can use the search, YouTube and Co. directly.

If you prefer to use uBlock Origin instead of Adblock, you can also switch off the message "Before you continue" with it.

You can also use extensions like the two ad blockers with a small setting in Chrome's incognito mode.
