Nvidia began to distribute new BIOS to manufacturers to support Resizable BAR, GALAXY and Gengsheng can update

Nvidia has already begun distributing new BIOS to partners to further improve the performance of GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards. This is the Resizable BAR, which is implemented with the help of relevant PCI Express technical standards, which is expected to increase the number of game frames on the platform.

Since AMD announced the Smart Access Memory (SAM) function, many NVIDIA users have been expecting similar support on their graphics cards. Although Nvidia confirmed that GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards will enable Resizable BAR, it has been waiting for several months.

Of course, the GeForce RTX 3060 released at the beginning of this year has realized the support for Resizable BAR. This update is mainly for the models released before GeForce RTX 3060, including GeForce RTX 3060 Ti/RTX 3070/RTX 3080/RTX 3090.

Nvidia promises that its Founders Edition version will be updated at the end of March, and other partners' GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards will pay attention to the progress of their corresponding board manufacturers.

To really use Resizable BAR, you need the cooperation of the motherboard and the processor. Users should also pay attention to the model they are using. In particular, the motherboard may also need to update a specific BIOS to be compatible. In addition, make sure to use the correct graphics card driver.

At present, the BIOS update program has been released on the corresponding page of the GeForce RTX 30 series graphics card on the Chinese official website of Gengsheng and GALAXY. However, it seems that it has not been digitally signed by NVIDIA, and it is probably an official tool of NVIDIA. And it is more like a tool to modify the existing BIOS of the graphics card, rather than a real custom BIOS. In theory, all GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards can be used.

Since individual graphics cards will have overseas and domestic versions, it is better for users to understand the model they are using, and at the same time confirm the relevant situation with the corresponding board manufacturer. It is believed that other manufacturers will follow up soon and will not wait too long.
