Samsung is renewing the Android mid-range today with the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A72. The smartphone combines with prices starting at 349 euros a water-repellent housing with IP67 certification, at least 6.5-inch OLED display, four cameras on the back and a four-year update guarantee.
3.5 mm jack and IP67 for all three smartphones
The design of the new Galaxy A smartphones is somewhat based on the current Galaxy S smartphones, in that the displays take up a large part of the front and offer rounded corners and a front camera embedded in the screen. The back integrates the large camera module in the same color as the rest of the housing, so that it appears a little more inconspicuous. All three smartphones offer stereo speakers, a 3.5 mm jack socket, USB Type C and dust and water-proof housings in accordance with IP67 certification.

Android with update guarantee
Parity also prevails in the software, where Android 11 including the current One UI 3.1 was installed, so that in terms of software, apart from the S Pen, the same functions are available as on Samsung's flagships, provided that they are not dependent on a specific hardware feature of the top models. The software also includes the update guarantee, which covers three generations of Android and recently four years of Android security updates. In the price range from 350 to 450 euros, the new Galaxy A smartphones should therefore offer the best support on the market.
Displays with 90 and 120 Hz
Differences between the three smartphones can only be found in the details, as the processor, memory, batteries and connectivity are largely identical, although there are outliers here and there. As the name already suggests, the Galaxy A52 5G supports the new 5G cellular standard, the two other devices put an end to LTE. The Galaxy A72, on the other hand, offers a slightly larger display with 6.7 instead of 6.5 inches, but otherwise has the same resolution. Speaking of displays: At least 90 Hz are offered here, the Galaxy A52 5G even reaches 120 Hz. In terms of brightness, the OLED panels should reach up to 800 cd / m². The larger Galaxy A72 also offers more space for the battery, so that it comes to 5,000 instead of 4,500 mAh.

Samsung wants to offer the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A72 in its own online shop as well as in free trade. Galaxy A52 and A52 5G each come with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of expandable storage and are offered in Awesome Violet, Awesome Blue, Awesome Black and Awesome White. The prices are 349 and 429 euros, with more memory costing 60 euros more each. The Galaxy A72 comes in the same colors and is only available with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of expandable storage for 449 euros.
