The Cougar brand has just added a new fairly powerful power supply for its well-known GEX series. This source is the Cougar GEX1050 that offers about 1050 W of power.
Cougar updates its GEX series with a new power supply model that offers around 1050W of power and 80 Plus Gold certification, ensuring it can run virtually any PC and configuration within the desktop PC segment.
The power supply is already listed on the Cougar website, where we can see all its main features, such as 0 dB mode and HDB Fan that minimize the generation of noise from the power supply and preserve the life of your fan.
Being a source certified with 80 Plus Gold, it ensures an efficiency above 90% in most workloads, except when it reaches 100% load, where the efficiency is close to 90%, which is already quite high. because it is very difficult for a PC to work at 100% load in very long periods.
The included fan has HDB bearing and is 135mm in size. The fan runs at a very low spin speed when the load is less than 40%. At full power, the fan can spin up to 1700 RPM.
The power supply operates with a single 12 V rail, a DC-to-DC circuit is included and has several protections (OCP, OPP, OVP, UVP, SCP and OTP). The amperage on the 12V line is 78.5A. We will keep you informed.
