AMD has made a revealing statement on the future of PC gaming starting this year. Playing at 1440p resolution will require a larger amount of VRAM memory.
AMD thinks 8GB of VRAM will be insufficient for 1440p gaming
The year 2021 seems to be a turning point in the world of video games. At the end of last year, new Xbox and PlayStation video consoles arrived that are going to raise the PC requirements to be able to enjoy video games in all their splendor.
AMD believes gamers are going to need graphics cards with more VRAM if they want their gaming computers to last. The company appears to be consistent with these statements, as they recently announced the Radeon RX 6700 XT GPU, which offers 12GB of video memory, 50% more memory than the next-generation RX 5700 XT offers.

Nvidia's RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070 models seem to be designed to play at 1440p, but AMD believes that with the amount of VRAM memory they have they will have problems in the future to play in Ultra quality and in 1440p.
The Radeon RX 6700 XT features 12GB of VRAM to give gamers "peace of mind when clicking on the Ultra settings, " said Scott Herkelman of AMD.
AMD appears to be preparing for the games to come to require a greater amount of VRAM memory. That's why the RX 6800, RX 6800 XT, and RX 6900 XT feature 16GB of VRAM memory. Is this statement true or is it a statement for gamers to opt for their graphics cards? We will keep you informed.
