AMD Ryzen 7 5700G APU is up to 15% better than i9-9900KF

The YouTube channel Sfdx Show has been able to get hold of a Ryzen 7 5700G, which is an APU processor based on the Zen 3 architecture that has not been launched on the market yet.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G APU is up to 15% better than i9-9900KF

As with the Ryzen 7 5300G, the Ryzen 7 5700G is an APU that can be purchased on the black market and is fully functional as engineering samples. The processor has 8 cores and 16 threads, which seems to have great performance along with an integrated GPU.

The processor purchased by Sfdx Show was tested with an ASUS B550M-Plus motherboard, which recently received a BIOS update that supports this processor. The integrated GPU does not yet have official drivers, so it was necessary to resort to controllers to be able to perform the tests with some video games.

Test of performance

The most revealing tests were performed with the CPU-Z tool. The single-core score for the 5700G was 610 points and the multi-core score was 6211 points. The AMD processor manages to beat the i9-9900KF with a difference of 12% and 15% in the single and multi-core tests.

The integrated GPU was tested with some games. In Fornite you get more than 150 fps in 1080p without the performance mode activated. With CSGO the performance hardly falls below 100 fps, even on the most demanding maps.

With the Rust, the GPU averages 50-60 fps in 1080 and graphics in Low, although the game does not look good due to problems with loading textures. Rust needs a dedicated graphics card with its own VRAM memory to work and the integrated GPU uses the system's RAM, which is not fast enough for this game.

With Apex a good performance is also seen, which varies between 70-80 fps depending on the area. With GTA V we also see a performance between 50-60 fps in low and 1080p. In Valorant we get to see frame rates of 200-300 fps easily.

In conclusion, the integrated GPU of the Ryzen 7 5700G would be above a GTX 1030 and somewhat below the GTX 1050. We do not know the release date of the next AMD APUs. We will keep you informed.
