Survival games are in vogue, and a clear example is Valheim, which is why the Vision Edge Entertainment and HardCodeWay studios announced a new survival game called Dinos Reborn, which takes us fully into an open world in the first person that is riddled with dinosaurs. A quick and easy summary would be that we are facing a kind of ARK: Survival Evolved but with much higher visual quality and, probably, much better polished.
Created under the Unreal Engine 4 graphics engine, and like any survival game, we must craft, have a base, feed ourselves, and be able to survive until someone rescues us. In addition to improved visual quality, the game will include a dynamic weather system to add greater immersion. According to his Steam listing, Dinos Reborn will arrive next year.
Surrounded by the remains of a capsule, you have woken up on a beach in an unknown place. Near you, you hear a strange sound. You lift your head and see ... a Dinosaur!
You don't remember who you are or what you do here. Survive long enough to discover your identity and your purpose. Face the dangers of this world, become a hunter, and discover all the mysteries of this place: dinosaurs are only part of it. Otherwise, you will have lost, and with it, a mission that is more important than your life.
Here, death comes in many possible ways. Control hunger, thirst, or fatigue. If you are injured or poisoned, you will need to find the proper treatment. Be vigilant so as not to be discovered by fierce predators. Try to eliminate your smell, camouflage yourself and remain silent. Find a safe place to hide, and pray you don't become dinner tonight.
While exploring vast tracts of terrain, one can find things beyond imagination. You wake up on a beach overlooking a tropical forest. You decide which direction to take.
To survive, you need food, water, fire, weapons, and medicine. At first, you will have to get them yourself, using only sticks and stones. Special tools will allow you to build traps, stocks, fortifications, shelters, and even a complete base.
Here everything is a threat, even the smallest of insects. Some creatures will tolerate you, and even like you, others will probably want to eat you. Find out who is a friend or foe. To become an effective hunter, you must learn to sneak up on creatures. Each animal has a different sense of smell, hearing, and sight. Study the secrets of tracking to find the right animal and not get lost in the jungle. An experienced hunter can do this at night, but be careful as most dangerous predators wake up after sunset.
Dinos Reborn, an out of this world mechanic:
- Tracking - In order to hunt successfully, you will need to know the behavior of your prey: analyze tracks, observe their habits, look for weaknesses and find the best time to attack.
- Learning - You won't find your typical statistics or tables here. To gain skills, you will have to learn them by reading books, tutorials, notes, observing, and repeating the same actions repeatedly, just like in real life.
- Building a base - When you have gathered all the tools you need, you can start building your base.
- Stealth - To go unnoticed, you will have to take into account your walking speed, the weather, the wind, and the environment.
- Dynamic weather - For unknown reasons, the weather here is very unstable. The aura changes very frequently and rapidly. You will experience the force of the sun and you will be almost blind looking at the sky. With the rain, it will be easier to go unnoticed and not be heard. A cloudless sky is always ideal for work. Sometimes you will get lost in the thick fog and you will go into a rage when you see how electrical storms destroy everything you have built.
