In just a day, more than $ 800,000 was raised for the release of the Sirui 24mm F2.8 anamorphic lens

Lenses should start shipping this month

As planned, Sirui Optical started fundraising this week for the 24mm F2.8 anamorphic lens, which we detailed in December. The project turned out to be successful - in just one day it was possible to raise more than $ 800,000, and at the time of this writing, the amount reached $ 896,780. Note that, in fact, the manufacturer sells ready-made lenses: the campaign will continue for another 29 days, while the start date for the shipment is the current month.

Recall that the lens with a focal length of 24 mm and a maximum aperture of f / 2.8 is addressed to video enthusiasts who appreciate the "cinematic" picture. The fact is that anamorphic or anamorphic lenses scale the image along with one of the sides of the frame, and the reverse transformation produces characteristic artifacts that are familiar to the audience and evoke associations with wide-screen films.

The lens is offered in versions with Micro Four Thirds, Sony E, Canon EF-M, Nikon Z and Fujifilm X mounts. Note that it only covers APS-C frame, that is, when used with full-frame cameras, the corresponding mode must be activated.

The lens is offered to campaigners for $ 749 and will retail for $ 999. Lots are also available in which the 24mm F2.8 lens is complemented by other Sirui anamorphic lenses - 35mm F1.8 and 50mm F1.8.
