Android 11 smartphones stopped connecting to some Wi-Fi networks and this is not a glitch, but a concern for security

It's all about the December Android security update

Users of Google Pixel smartphones with the December Android security update installed have experienced devices that stop connecting to some Wi-Fi networks.

As explained by experts from the mobile developer community XDA Developers, this is not a bug or a glitch, but a completely planned internal change made by Google in Android 11.

All smartphones with Android 11 are expected to eventually have this change. This means we will see a lot of angry user complaints in the near future.

Before

Affected smartphones refuse to connect to some corporate networks. The problem is that the Do Not Validate option in the CA certificate section is missing in the network settings. Previously, it appeared when a new WPA2-Enterprise network was added.

After

According to Google developers, this option posed a security threat and network administrators had been warning about this threat for years. In any case, there are more and more users with this problem and in the end, there will be simple ways to solve it.
