Epic Games announced on its blog that Meerkat, a short film created by Weta Digital to showcase Unreal Engine 4's hair and wool technology, is now available for download. Anyone can upload the entire scene to themselves and independently figure out how Weta created the project.
According to a press release, Weta Digital has worked closely with Epic to achieve better results with digital wool. The studio assisted Epic's engineers in refining the toolkit, as they have extensive experience in the creation of digital hair. At the same time, the new version of the Hair and Fur system is already available in the Unreal Engine 4.26 update.
