Windows Tools in Windows 10 bundles all tools in the Start menu in a shortcut

In Windows 10, Microsoft not only changes the icons in the next version, separates the external drivers, but also cleans up the start menu.

Folders such as Windows PowerShell, Windows System, Windows Management Programs and Windows Accessories disappear and are replaced by a single link “Windows Tools”. This has also been added in the old control panel. If you start the Windows tools, the file explorer shows the collection of all shortcuts directly from the control panel.

Also included is the Power Automate Desktop, which is integrated into Windows 10 21H1.

If you want to put the Windows tools as a shortcut on the desktop, then it is sufficient to drag the icon either from the start menu or from the control panel onto the desktop. The Windows tools are not attached to the quick start. So I went looking for it.

Microsoft simply took the link to the administration, which we already know, and added the missing links here. Here is a comparison of “Administration” so far and “Windows Tools” in Windows 10 21H1 and higher.

If you want to start the Windows tools via "Run" (Windows key + R), you can do this via this shell link. If you want to include the Windows tools in the quick start, copy the link into the address bar (do not call it) and then drag it into the quick start.

explorer.exe shell ::: {D20EA4E1-3957-11d2-A40B-0C5020524153}

The fact that Microsoft has removed some apps and now also combines the Windows tools in one link has made the start menu clearer.
