Windows 10, Microsoft will reduce the number of bloatware

Windows 10 comes natively with many applications, some of which can be considered "bloatware". This is for example the case of Paint 3D or 3D Viewer because of their too targeted nature thus limiting their popularity.

More generally, a new Windows 10 PC usually comes with a bunch of totally useless applications. Some are software preinstalled with the OS and signed by Microsoft and others are third-party applications. Often all these little people do not add much except to slow down the machine startup and take up disk space.

Windows 10 will get cleaner

Microsoft recently made the decision to clean up the popularity of certain applications a bit. Paint 3D and 3D Viewer being creative oriented may be considered bloatware by some people. Suddenly they will disappear from the native content of Windows 10 to take advantage of their own installation.

Bloatware

Bloatware sometimes refers to software that uses an excessive amount of system resources, sometimes to software that accumulates a large number of disparate functionalities. Also referred to as forcibly pre-installed software in addition to the operating system on new hardware. Wikipedia

This change will happen with Windows 10 21H2. 3D Viewer and Paint 3D will no longer be installed by default. It will be necessary to intervene manually to download them from the Windows Store. The giant will also remove the 3D Objects shortcut in the file explorer. Finally, another modification is planned.

The "Math Input Panel" utility

The “Math Input Panel” utility will bow out. It allows the writing of mathematical formulas in order to insert them into different types of documents.

All these changes are already in place in the latest builds offered through the Windows Insider program.
