Silicon Power (SP) unveils a new line of SSDs, the XD80. In M.2 format, they use a PCIe 3.0 interface and are available in several capacities.

The XD80 is an M.2 SSD supporting NVMe 1.3 protocol. Its interface is able to take advantage of the bandwidth offered by four PCIe 3.0 lanes. Aiming at players and creators (video editing, photo editing, 3D creation, etc.) this solution is announced with strong speeds. Its mechanics take advantage of SLC Caching and DRAM Cache Buffer technologies.

In use, the manufacturer promises a maximum throughput of 3.4 Gb / s in reading against 3.0 Gb / s in writing. Each unit comes with a cooling aid. Clearly, an aluminum heat sink is present to facilitate heat removal and prevent performance drops. We have capacities of 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB.

This XD80 family is positioned in an offer comprising a lot of solutions. The Silicon Power catalog offers, for example, the US70, UD70, P34A80, P34A60, and P32A80.
