All new functions, including digital signature, integration with Seafile, password protection for documents, data verification and much more are now available in the desktop version of our editors for Windows, Linux and macOS. Digital signature
Starting with version 6.2, you can add a digital signature to your text documents, spreadsheets and presentations to confirm that a file was authored by you and not modified after it was signed.
For this, you need a certificate issued by a certification authority.
Note: Digital signatures added in the desktop app are not yet supported in the online version. When opening a signed document in the cloud or server version, the signature is invisible. If you edit the document, it will be removed. We'll fix that soon.
Where to find it: Protection tab -> Signature -> Add digital signature.
Password protection
The updated desktop app also makes it possible to protect your local documents with a password so that no one can access them without your consent.
Where to find it: File tab -> Protect -> Add Password.
Integration with Seafile
Seafile Pro 7.1.13 has created a list of document management systems that can be connected to ONLYOFFICE desktop editors. This means that you can now edit documents saved in your Seafile account straight from the desktop app, even together.
Where to find it: Start ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors -> Connection to the Cloud -> Seafile.
