Microsoft Teams is a multi-functional cross-platform messenger for the joint solution of corporate tasks. Previously only part of the paid Office 365 suite, Teams is now available for free as well. The messenger is designed for Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android platforms. It includes messaging, co-chats and conferences, file sharing and co-editing.
The messenger has integration with Office 365 and supports collaboration with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint and Power BI applications, as well as third-party applications. Mobile versions of Teams for iOS and Android allow you to always be in touch with your team and send and edit files remotely.
Teams helps you plan and meet deadlines, share new ideas with your team, and get them done. The planner allows you to create project boards, which allows you to conveniently track all stages of work on a project and complete tasks on time.
Audio and video calls are supported, including joint video conferences, as well as integration with Skype. A flexible system of notification settings allows you not to miss important messages or mentions of you in general chats.
Teams has enterprise-grade security features like Office 365. Microsoft does not scan your team's messages or documents for promotional or non-service related purposes. As with OneDrive for Business, user data is protected. Also, Teams uses two-factor authentication and encryption of transmitted and inactive data.
