Microsoft has made OpenJDK 11 available for download as a preview


Microsoft today made the OpenJDK available for download. This is the free LTS (Long-Term-Support) distribution of OpenJDK, which will be supported until 2024.

The package contains the binary files for Java 11, based on OpenJDK 11.0.10 + 9, for x64 server and desktop environments under macOS, Linux, and Windows. An Early Access Binary for Java 16 for Windows ARM, based on the latest OpenJDK 16 + 36 release, has also been published. Microsoft plans to complete the OpenJDK 17 at the end of the year.
