Gigabyte adds Resizable BAR technology to its RTX 30 GPUs

Gigabyte follows in the footsteps of other graphics card manufacturers and announces the arrival of Resizable BAR support for the brand's entire family of RTX 30 graphics cards.

As usual, the support requires a small update to the vBIOS of the graphics card, which are the RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 models. Recall that the RTX 3060 model already came with the Resizable BAR support since the launch, on February 25.

Gigabyte is one of the most important manufacturers of custom graphics cards and they have taken the occasion to give official support for Resizable BAR technology, which promises to improve the performance of the entire family of RTX 30 graphics cards in video games.

Resizable BAR is a PCI Express interface technology that enhances the CPU's reading of VRAM memory for full memory access rather than being divided into segments. This improves overall performance in video games. Depending on the title, the performance improvement can vary between 5 and 10%. Although it is not a huge performance improvement, it is completely free of charge and only requires a vBIOS update.

Gigabyte boasts some proprietary technologies that distinguish it from other manufacturers, such as MAX-Covered cooling, LCD monitor, RGB Fusion 2.0-based lighting effects, aerospace PCB coating, and ULTRA DURABLE certified components. GAMING OC graphics cards, meanwhile, benefit from the WINDFORCE 3X cooling system, Screen Cooling technology, graphene nano-lubricant, silent operation mode with dual BIOS, etc.
