Asus Intel DG1 is slower than AMD's RX 550

The low-end graphics card Intel DG1 of Asus, which uses the Xe-LP technology, has appeared in BaseMark to check their performance.

The BaseMark tool has shared the first performance test of the Asus DG1 aka Iris Xe graphics card. At the moment, this is the first Iris Xe graphics card that Intel announced earlier this year.

The Asus Intel DG1-4GB (Iris Xe) is a passively cooled graphics card that has 96 execution units and 4 GB of LPDDR4-4266 type memory on board.

The graphics card has three display outputs and completely passive cooling, there is also no receiver for additional power, so this low-end model is powered only by the PCI Express slot.

This model has undergone a synthetic BaseMark test. For the test, the Asus PRIME H410M motherboard was used, which is one of the few compatible with this Intel DG1 graphics card.

As we see in the Vulkan High and Medium tests, the Asus Intel DG1 obtains a score of 1267 and 17289 points, respectively. The score falls slightly below a modest RX 550 from AMD, which scores 17,349 points. It can also be purchased with an older Radeon HD 7850.

Right now, Intel plans to launch an even more powerful graphics card called the DG2 later this year using the Xe-HPG architecture. This model is going to be geared towards gamers and we do not know the performance it can achieve. We are also waiting for other third-party manufacturers besides Asus to launch their own DG1 models. We will keep you informed.
