When is a new Windows 10 final version actually ready? We have these updates for you!

With Windows 10 2004, the Windows team joined the development rhythm of the Azure team. Before that, we always had a new version in March / September or postponed it by a few weeks. Now it's gotten a little more confusing for some.

Therefore, here is an explanation of how you can best remember when a Windows 10 version is actually ready. You have to divide the development into two areas.

One development is the Windows core. So the underground for Windows 10. This is where the Azure team and the Windows 10 teamwork together. This development is always completed in June and December. The Windows 10 version, let's take the Windows 10 21H2 as an example, will be ready in June as a base and will then be supplied with updates. Windows 10 is now finished in the first part.

Other Windows teams are working separately on the new functions for Windows 10. By the end of March, the individual development teams have to decide for themselves whether the quality of the new functions can be built into Windows 10 21H2. Otherwise, the new function will be moved to the next Windows 10.

From this point onwards, work will continue on these functions and any errors that may still exist will be corrected. Functions that were previously only hidden in the system (which can now and then be made visible by the ViVeTool ) will gradually be integrated into the Windows 10 version until June. From now on, around the end of June, it will be about error corrections. Then the boring part begins for us insiders.

Some of these new functions will be integrated into the Windows 10 version, but will only be activated later by the enablement package. Only then will we have all the new functions available. The time will come in September or October. Microsoft is making the new version available to everyone via Windows Update or the MediaCreationTool.

That is actually the explanation why the Windows 10 version is finished once in June or December without all new functions and once as a Windows 10 version then completely in March / April or September / October is declared as finished for everyone with all functions.
