The Surface Duo 2 would arrive with 5G support

Microsoft would already be working on a new Surface Duo, having launched its first model in September last year. It is currently available in few markets, but the American firm seeks to launch a new, better model, which could also be available in a greater number of markets worldwide when it is launched.

This second generation would introduce a series of novelties and one of the most important is that it would have support for 5G, unlike the first.

New model

One of the big disappointments for many users with the first generation of the Surface Duo is the use of an old processor, which was more than a year old, at its launch. This also made this first model not support 5G, something that in a high-priced device is essential today. Microsoft seems to change this in the second generation, at least this is what they suggest.

The firm would be looking for staff to work on implementing 5G in this second generation of its device with two screens. So this would help the new model to be ready to compete in markets around the world thanks to such support.

When we can expect a new Surface Duo to go on sale, nothing is known at the moment. The firm would still be in an initial development phase, so we will have to wait a while for this new model to finally become official.
