The series and movies of 'Star Wars' that maybe you did not know will arrive very soon to Disney Plus

Before Baby Yoda took the world of 'The Mandalorian' by storm, the Ewoks existed. The famous characters from the classic trilogy will debut on Disney Plus with two films and an animated series from the 1980s.

Disney Plus is getting a flood of Star Wars content, which while not canon, is interesting enough to let go of. The streaming video service will premiere in April the first version of the animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars, which debuted in 2003 and gave birth to Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Star Wars: Clone Wars consists of three seasons spread over two volumes. The series premiered on Cartoon Network with short episodes and 2D animation in order to tell the story of what happened between Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005).

Although the 2008 reboot generated more audiences thanks to iconic characters such as Ahsoka Tano, Darth Maul or Bo-Katan, the original 2003 series cannot be omitted.

Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003)

It was there that we met Asajj Ventress, Count Dooku's apprentice who seeks to kill Anakin Skywalker. Star Wars: Clone Wars earned several accolades, though it was later out of canon when Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012.

Star Wars: Clone Wars marked the franchise's return to animated series after Ewoks. Interestingly, the 1985 series based on the characters from Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983) will also arrive on Disney Plus in April. Ewoks only aired for two years to exploit the popularity of the small inhabitants of Endor.

The premieres are not part of the canon of 'Star Wars'

The fever created by the Ewoks in the eighties is similar to what Baby Yoda did with The Mandalorian. In addition to the animated series, the furry had two television movies: Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, released as a television spin-off in 1984 and 1985.

Both films will premiere on Disney Plus and you will witness George Lucas' first attempt to land a project on television after the disastrous Christmas Special. Although the story is not worthy of credit, Caravan of Courage received two Emmys nominations in the categories of special effects and best program for children.

Boba Fett in The Story of the Faithful Wookie

Lastly, The Story of the Faithful Wookie will also debut on the streaming video service. The 1978 animated short premiered alongside the Star Wars Christmas Special and is famous because it was the first to show Boba Fett.

The story of the short revolves around Han Solo and Chewbacca, who embark on a mission to retrieve a talisman that can turn you invisible. To date, it is one of the darkest projects in the expanded universe and will soon be known by more fans.

Star Wars: Clone Wars, Ewoks (S1 and S2), Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure, Ewoks: The Battle for Endor and The Story of the Faithful Wookie will be available on Disney Plus starting in April.
