Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan confessed why 'The Falcon and The Winter Soldier' and 'Avengers: Endgame' are so similar. The Marvel Studios series will premiere on March 19 on Disney Plus.
Within days of the premiere of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on Disney Plus, fan expectations are growing. The series, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, will bet on a type of action known to those who enjoyed Avengers: Endgame and other films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
What can we expect from the new Disney Plus series? According to its protagonists, The Falcon and Winter Soldier is not that different from Avengers: Endgame. In an interview with Total Film, the actors shared that the energy remains the same when compared to film production.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier works just as well on television as it does on the big screen, as Disney didn't downplay the greatness of the Marvel Universe, Anthony Mackie said.
“Marvel has always focused on depth and story, and the action is just a by-product of the story. What they've been able to do that I really enjoyed watching on my television is the fact that they didn't downplay the greatness of the Marvel Universe. They did not downplay the physical activity aspect. They just put it in such a way that it works well at home, as it would work on the big screen.
Why 'the Falcon and the Winter Soldier' is so much like the Marvel movies
According to Mackie, the best thing Marvel did was create continuity between projects and that's why the movie universe works so well.
“The best thing Marvel has been able to do is to create continuity, and that is why the universe works so well project by project, and you can go film by film and feel the same experience because there is this continuity of services, directors, and producers. These are people we've spent most of seven and 10 years with, so the feel is the same, the tone is the same, the ability to create our performances and appear is the same."
The latter is important and Phase 4 follows from the previous ones since it is the first time that it will integrate multiple television series into the Marvel Universe. Although WandaVision is somewhat different from what Disney got us used to in previous phases, the way it intertwines with other stories is remarkable.
The Falcon and Winter Soldier will come as a relief and fill that void that exists between fans. The premiere of Black Widow is still a long way off and viewers are looking for a project that unfolds the battles and epic moments of action they are familiar with.
Sebastian Stan mentioned that the series will not feel different from what we see in the movies. The actor uses Avengers: Endgame as an example once it goes on sale on iTunes. There are many ways to enjoy it - iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, etc - and according to Stan, the experience is basically the same.
The premiere of The Falcon and Winter Soldier is dated March 19 exclusively on Disney Plus.
