Surface Laptop 4 rumors: AMD processor may be optional

It is currently reported that Microsoft's upcoming Surface Laptop 4 will also have an option of Intel or AMD processors, and users can choose which processor they want when buying.

On the 15-inch Surface Laptop 3 launched in 2019, Microsoft gave the majority of consumer users the option of AMD processors for the first time. Although the Enterprise Edition and Education Edition Surface Laptop 3 still use Intel processors, this is also the beginning of Microsoft's recognition of AMD mobile processors.

With the success of AMD's mobile processor, this trend should also continue on the Surface Laptop 4. According to a report by foreign media WinFuture, Surface Laptop 4 will have 4 CPU configurations to choose from, namely AMD's Ryzen 5 4680U and Ryzen 7 4980U, and Intel's Core i5-1145G7 and Core i7-1185G7.

Intel’s side is naturally the latest 11th-generation Core processor, so the Intel processor version of Surface Laptop 4 is expected to become the first Surface series computer with EVO certification. On AMD's side, Surface currently seems to have no relationship with AMD's latest Ryzen 5000 series processors, but will there be an increased version of Surface based on the Ryzen 5000 series? I think there is still a chance.

In addition to the processor, WinFuture also listed other specifications of the Surface Laptop 4. On the screen, the 13.5-inch version will have a resolution of 2256*1504, and the 15-inch version will have a resolution of 2496*1664. The resolution of both is the same as the current Surface Laptop 3; the memory can be 8, 16 or 32GB; storage space is available from 128GB to 1TB NVMe SSD. As for the price, there is no news about the price of Surface Laptop 4, so everyone can only wait.

However, no other sources have confirmed that WinFuture's news is accurate, so it is best for everyone to be skeptical.
