Snapdragon SC7295: Mid-range processor for Windows 10 and ChromeOS laptops

Qualcomm has seen how information has been leaked from the Snapdragon SC7295, a mid-range processor that will come to give life to Windows 10 and ChromeOS laptops. Of course, do not expect much, this is the direct successor to the Snapdragon 7c and it is expected that it offers a very poor performance compared to any x86 processor, and even the comparisons with the Apple M1 will be very painful.

The proof of this is that we will have an 8-core configuration, where only one of these cores will be Prime @ 2.70 GHz accompanied by 3x cores @ 2.40 GHz + 4x low-performance cores @ 1.80 GHz, so there will basically be hundreds of smartphones in the markets that are faster.

It is indicated that this processor would be based on the Snapdragon 775, which would be released in a Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite, so it would offer support for LPDDR5 RAM @ 3200 MHz or LPDR4X @ 2400 MHz, UFS 3.1 storage, and would be manufactured to a process 5nm manufacturing, so basically everything will focus on the autonomy of the equipment.

Later a vitaminized version should arrive, the successor to the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2, and would receive the name of Snapdragon SC8280XP with 4 high-performance cores @ 2.70 GHz and Adreno 690 graphics, so it is also expected that it will not surprise us and we will have to wait for its first custom processor with AMD RDNA2 graphics that would arrive by the end of the year.
