Red Magic 6 Pro arrives as a focus on games, 165 Hz screen and 120 w charger

The Nubia is not such a famous brand here in Brazil, but it is a company that risks rather innovations in the Chinese market, including in the niche of mobile gamers. Last year, the company launched the first smartphone with a 144 Hz screen, and in 2021 it jumped to an even higher refresh rate.

The Red Magic series is developed in partnership with Tencent, one of the most popular mobile game developers today. The newly launched Red Magic 6 brings a refresh rate of 165 Hz on a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen. This new brand should be followed by other mobile phone manufacturers soon - Asus itself would have tried to offer this feature on the ROG Phone 3, but ended up limiting it to 144 Hz after all.

The new Nubia line has two models that are differentiated by small details of memory and battery, with the Pro having less power capacity, but it has an incredible 120 W charger to fill the load in much less time than the 66 W on the basic model.

Find out all the specifications, prices and availability of Red Magic 6 below.

The new Nubia gamer phone has a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with a 165 Hz refresh rate, with a Full HD resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The device also offers up to 500 Hz of touch response rate and 10-bit color support, with the display being the biggest differential of the model for competitors.

Internally, the device brings the Snapdragon 888, the most powerful chipset for Android today, and the Pro version reaches up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, with a maximum of 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The basic variant has 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM, and both also offer an option with 128 GB of storage, for those who want to save a little and don't need as much space.

The set of rear cameras is triple, with a main of 64 MP, an ultrawide of 8 MP and a macro of 2 MP, while the selfies are in charge of an 8 MP sensor. Compared to other gamers' models, Red Magic 6 does not stand out in terms of photography and videography.

Another issue in which the base and Pro models differ is in the battery, with 5,050 mAh of charge in the first and only 4,500 mAh in the second. To compensate, the most advanced features support 120 W recharge, against “only” 66 W in the most affordable.

Other features include support for the 5G network, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, USB-C connector, fingerprint reader under the screen, capacitive trigger buttons and a built-in cooling fan. The devices come out of the box with Android 11 installed under the RedMagic OS 4.0 interface.
