Palit registers new GeForce GTX 1060 to put them to mine cryptocurrencies

Through the Eurasian Economic Commission we learned that the manufacturer Palit registered x12 new GeForce GTX 1060 graphics cards , with the aim of selling them to the mining market.

This GPU, launched in mid-2016, turns out to be perfect for mining cryptocurrencies, since it not only consumes little power, but also turns out to be cheaper than any GeForce RTX, offering a hash rate of 24-26 MH / s. In fact, if we take into account the limitations of NVIDIA , it performs the same as an RTX 3060 in mining Ethereum.

On the other hand, there is the fact that NVIDIA should not have problems in offering this graphics card, since it uses the GP106 chip, which is based on the Pascal architecture, with a manufacturing process with little demand such as 16nm. from TSMC.

We'll see how this all ends, and if the GPUs will remain out of stock despite NVIDIA's new CMP HX series for cryptocurrency mining. So far, NVIDIA announced four CMP HX (Crypto Mining Processor) cards that will offer a hash rate on Ethereum from 26 MH / s to 125W to  86 MH / s to 320W.

It appears that the GeForce GTX 1060 is not retiring at all, with Palit registering 12 new models, which will be offered as an alternative for miners. Time to mine Ethereum?
