Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti, AIB Partners are Reluctant to Sell This Graphics Card

According to Korean source @ harukaze5719, Nvidia's graphics card manufacturing partners are limiting or even preventing the sale of RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards.

The reasons for this happening have to do, according to the source, with the low-profit margins that this model is granting. Apparently, Ampere's advanced PCB design is very complex and more expensive than originally believed. Instead, partners are focusing on the RTX 3070 graphics card, but there's more under the hood.

This would make it impossible for third-party manufacturers to release this card at the MSRP price that Nvidia suggests. Something that is already happening with other models of the RTX 30 family, but with the RTX 3060 Ti, this problem would be on another scale.

The partners are commenting that a price tag between $ 250 and $ 300 for this model is totally impossible and that "they would be bankrupt if they sold it at those prices." This would not be the case with the RTX 3070, a model that would be granted much more profitable margins for AIB partners.

According to another source, GamersNexus, accepting the Nvidia price would mean making sacrifices in the cooling stage, much more modest than originally thought, and also sacrifices in the VRM phases, among other PCB components, which could be a bit risky if you want to offer. graphics cards that make the most of the GPU and are durable.

The reason AIB partners are opting for an RTX 3070 is that the RTX 3060 Ti costs around $ 100 less, but has very similar performance levels. Therefore, manufacturers have to opt for a cooling system that is practically identical to each other, as well as the other components used. Since the RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070 share the same GA104 matrix, the cost of manufacturing them is very similar, so the 3060 Ti generates less profit per unit sold.

Nvidia didn't think of this detail when it released the RTX 3060 Ti and third-party manufacturers cannot be blamed for selling the models that they find most beneficial. What do you think? We will keep you informed.
