New XMG Ultra 17 laptop powered by Intel Rocket Lake-S can replace desktop PC


Acceptance of orders for the new generation XMG Ultra 17 portable computer has begun, which is quite capable of becoming an alternative to a powerful desktop. The laptop starts at 2,800 euros.

It is based on the Intel Rocket Lake-S hardware platform. The maximum configuration includes a Core i9-11900K processor with eight cores (up to 16 instruction streams) and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 750. The base clock speed is 3.5 GHz, the turbo frequency is 5.3 GHz.

For the video subsystem, a choice of a range of discrete NVIDIA accelerators is available - up to the GeForce RTX 3080 with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory. The amount of DDR4-3200 RAM can be up to 128 GB. Supports four M.2 2280 solid-state modules.

The display measures 17.3 inches diagonally. Available in versions with Full HD (1920 × 1080 pixels) and 4K (3840 × 2160 pixels).

The computer carries on board Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 wireless adapters, as well as a Killer E3000 2.5 Gbps LAN controller for wired network connection. The equipment includes a keyboard with individual RGB-backlit buttons and a fingerprint scanner for fingerprint authentication.

There are two Thunderbolt 4 interfaces, a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port and three USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 connector, two Mini DisplayPort 1.3a connectors, a standard audio jack and an S / PDIF interface. Dimensions are 399 × 319 × 43.5 mm, weight - 4.6 kg. A rechargeable battery with a capacity of 97 Wh was used.
