Netflix Is Preparing An Anime About 'Terminator' In A Way That Has Never Been Done Before

The vice president of Netflix Japan points out that the Terminator anime will explore its universe in a way that has never been done before.

Terminator is back. Netflix continues to search for new content to enhance its anime division. The company has been promoting original animation content for some time, while again rescuing some of the great works of the genre.

In this case, the company seems determined to give a second life to the great film franchises from the point of view of animation.

And it is that according to reports from Variety, Netflix wants to bring the Terminator universe to its own anime production. The company would have already commissioned its production, although it is at a very early stage.

Logically, the details of the plot, as well as the point of the Terminator chronology on which it will be based, are unknown. However, the production is the result of a partnership with Skydance, so it goes for it all.

'Terminator': in anime and with the Netflix seal

Skydance has been the producer of the last installments of Terminator. Additionally, the Netflix anime will be developed by Production IG, which has been producing anime content for the streaming service since 2018.

The Production IG stamp for Netflix has been, so far, of the highest quality. Among his most recognized productions are Ghost in the Shell, B: The Beginning and Eden of the East.

What we do know about the Finish Netflix anime is that it will be a novel twist for the franchise. It will portray the part of the war between robots and humans more than the one that the movies have historically treated:

"The new animated series will explore this universe in a way that has never been done before. We can't wait for fans to experience this incredible new chapter in the epic battle between machines and humans" - John Derderian, Vice President, Netflix Japan and Anime.

Terminator will therefore be another of the great franchises that the company will transform into anime such as Castlevania and Blood of Zeus.

In addition to Terminator, Netflix is pending the premiere of a Splinter Cell animated series and an anime derived from Zack Snyder's film Army of the Dead.

Its premiere, as well as details of the dubbing cast of it are unknown. And being a production of this level, who knows if we will hear the voice of any of the protagonists of the films.
