MSI introduces the first custom design of the Radeon RX 6700 XT

The presentation of the Radeon RX 6700 XT in the form of the reference version AMD and a preview of the first custom models are followed by the announcement of the first two custom designs from MSI. More precisely, these are the Radeon RX 6700 XT GAMING X 12G and Radeon RX 6700 XT MECH 2X 12G OC.

Exact technical details about the two models are not yet available. MSI does not provide any information about the clock rates. It is therefore not known whether the boost clock will be higher than the already quite high 2.581 MHz of the reference version.

The Radeon RX 6700 XT GAMING X 12G relies on the TWIN FROZR 8 cooling system. This consists of two axial fans, which should be particularly quiet thanks to the new TORX FAN 4.0. Of course, the Mystic Light RGB lighting should not be missing either. Instead of once 8-pin and once 6-pin as in the reference version, MSI uses twice 8-pin for additional power supply in this model. The dimensions of the card are given as 279 x 131 x 58 mm.

The Radeon RX 6700 XT MECH 2X 12G OC is supposed to be a slightly cheaper model and relies on the previous generation of axial fans, for example with the TORX FAN 3.0. The RGB equipment is also a bit more economical and the overall design is a bit more restrained. At 247 x 131 x 51 mm, it is also somewhat more compact and does not occupy two slots. The additional power supply is also provided here by means of two 8-pin.

As I said, the information on the clock rate of the GPU for the two models is still missing and there may also be other variants of the Radeon RX 6700 XT from MSI. The aforementioned card should be available from March 18th. The manufacturer does not name a price.
