Meizu 18 Pro: 6.7″ @ 120 Hz, Snapdragon 888, 12GB RAM and quad rear camera


Meizu announced its new top-of-the-range smartphone today in China, and this is none other than the Meizu 18 Pro, which was accompanied by a cheaper version that loses the Pro tag along the way.

The Meizu 18 Pro thus offers a 6.7-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED panel at a Quad HD + resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a Touch Sampling Rate @ 240 Hz. The panel features curved edges, an ultrasound fingerprint reader, and is powered by a Snapdragon 888 SoC that is accompanied by 8GB / 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. All this is powered by a 4500 mAh battery with a 40W fast charge.

Where the terminal stands out is in the photographic section, since it has a 50 megapixel Samsung GN1 main sensor, a 32 megapixel Sony IMX616 ultra-wide-angle with macro function, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 3D ToF sensor. On the front, a generous selfie camera of no less than 44 megapixels. It goes on sale in China at a local price of 640 euros (8GB / 128GB), 705 euros (8GB / 256GB) and 770 euros (12GB / 256GB).

As for the Meizu 18, its screen is reduced to 6.2 inches but maintains the resolution, refresh rate, sampling rate, processor, and RAM, and storage settings.

Basically, the biggest difference, aside from screen size, is a triple rear camera setup with a Sony IMX682 64 megapixel sensor, 16-megapixel Ultra Wide Angle, and 8 MP telephoto lens. The selfie camera goes to a resolution of 20 MP, the battery is 4000 mAh with fast charging of 36W and without wireless charging, and its price is  560 euros (8GB / 128GB), 600 euros (8GB / 256GB), and 640 euros (12GB / 256GB).
