Leaker to the iPhone 13: New color, extended portrait mode, beamforming and more

The iPhone 12 will be replaced in about six months. There are already some rumors about the upcoming flagship model: The dimensions of the four models from the current series are likely to remain the same, the modem built for 5G could be upgraded. Now the YouTuber EverythingApplePro speaks up and refers to the statements of the speaker Max Weinbach. This comes up with exciting details about the iPhone 13.

New matt black for the Pro models

Serious changes to the design known from the iPhone 12 are not to be expected. In fact, the notch should be a little smaller in all future models. A new color variant replaces the graphite option for the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max: “Borderline Black” is a matt black finish that gives the device a particularly elegant look.

According to Weinbach, Apple is also experimenting with an orange that tends to turn bronze. However, this variant will most likely not come onto the market. The camera module installed on the back is not completely flat but does not protrude as strongly as has been the case so far.

Portrait mode significantly improved

Speaking of the camera: The Pro models make even more use of the LiDAR scanner to improve the portrait mode. A new process combines the data obtained from the camera and the LiDAR sensors and enables better recognition of the outlines. In addition, Apple will equip iOS with a new mode in the future that will be used for image stabilization, automatically recognize subjects during video recording and keep them in focus.

New coating of the edges

In addition to a 120-Hertz display, Apple is relying on two other new features: Thanks to beamforming, the quality of calls increases due to improved noise suppression. Weinbach also mentions a special coating on the stainless steel edges of future devices: This would put an end to annoying fingerprints.
