Today we will show you how you can disable / remove Facebook birthday notifications; Well, although for many this is quite useful to know, for others, these notifications often cause inconvenience and discomfort. But do not worry, if you are one of those who do not want to receive those annoying notifications, you just have to follow the steps that we describe later.
Birthday notifications are also disabled from Facebook
As we all know, Facebook is one of the main social networks that stores a series of personal data of its users; and among them is our birthday. In a good way, the company wants to let added friends know what someone else is doing on the platform (or in this case: celebrating); But for all this, we have the possibility to say to the network: "I don't want to know about this."
The way to make it known is simply to go to the settings section and configure what we want the platform to notify us or do in our account. And this is where we can select to stop receiving those birthday notifications; that for many, are annoying.
It is worth noting that in a previous article we shared with you how to configure the notifications we receive on Facebook; with which, we now incorporate this new configuration into our personal settings. So, we will not go around anymore and then let's see the steps we must take to deactivate these birthday notifications; which you can do in a similar way on the web or in the app:
Steps to follow to stop receiving notifications
1. Log in to your Facebook account (or enter the application on your mobile).
2. Go to the "Settings" section of your account (or "Settings and privacy" on the web).
3. In the "Notifications" section, go to "Notifications settings".
4. Click on the "Birthday" option.
5. Slide the selector on "Allow notifications on Facebook" to activate / deactivate the function.

From there, you will no longer receive birthday notifications in your account; remembering that you can always reverse your preference by following the same steps above. In addition, the instructions shown above are performed in a similar way both in the mobile application or in its web version.
Also, if you do not want to completely disable these Facebook notifications, within the "Birthday" option you will also find other options to adjust; such as: Where to receive those notifications (SMS, push, or email) and the type of birthdays you want to know (previous or next).
