CoreCycler new tool to tune the AMD Curve Optimizer

A ComputerBase user “sp00n.82” has developed a tool to be able to perform overclocking and undervolting on AMD Ryzen 5000 “Zen3” processors called CoreCycler.

New CoreCycler AMD Curve Optimizer Tuning Tool

Curve Optimizer was added by AMD last year to be part of the PBO2 (Precision Boost Overdrive 2) technology and this new tool requires the installation of the AGESA ComboAMv2Pi 1.1.8.0 firmware, which was the first firmware to incorporate Curve Optimizer.

AMD Curve Optimizer is a new form of overclocking with Ryzen processors that adds adjustments to the internal frequency and voltage tables. This allows users to undervolt to provide a greater headroom. Additionally, adjustments can be made for each core independently, making it possible to take advantage of the best-performing cores.

What CoreCycler does is perform an automatic stability test on each of the cores and gives us a complete report that we can use to make adjustments to the cores that appear more stable and offer the best performance. The stability test is done with Prime95 and it can save us a lot of time to perform the best possible overclocking with AMD Curve Optimizer.

The tool is not yet final and is in full development collecting all the feedback from users. Also, note that using the AMD Curve Optimizer tool voids the warranty on Ryzen CPUs.

There are other tools that help us to overclock with Ryzen 5000 processors such as ClockTuner for Ryzen, an application that is also free.
