This is how Tony Stark would return in 'Armor Wars', the War Machine series for Disney Plus

According to Don Cheadle, an actor who plays War Machine in the Marvel Universe, Tony Stark will have a major role in the 'Armor Wars' series for Disney Plus.

One of the strongest theories about the return of Tony Stark to the Marvel Cinematic Universe would have been confirmed. After the death of the superhero in Avengers: Endgame, many have wondered how Tony Stark / Iron Man will return in Phase 4 of the MCU. The answer is more complex than we think, although it involves his death.

According to Don Cheadle - War Machine in the Marvel movies - Tony Stark's death will play a major role in the Armor Wars series. In an interview with the podcast BroBible's Post-Credit, the actor confirmed the information and offered some details of his next series for Disney Plus.

"Tony Stark's death, I'm pretty sure, will play a role in the show." Don Cheadle

According to Don Cheadle, "Rhodey" progresses quite well after the accident in Captain America: Civil War. If we remember, in the War Machine fight he is hit by a Vision attack that disables his suit's reactor in mid-flight. This causes him to fall at high speed and crash to the ground without Iron Man or Falcon being able to save him.

Later, thanks to orthopedic supports designed by Tony Stark, James Rhodes is able to walk again. According to Cheadle, the evolution of the character in Armor Wars is positive and already moving again.

"As the technology continues to develop and we keep making innovations in the suit and whatever happens, I imagine there will be another lift and another way that we will continue to investigate that part of Rhodey."

Finally, the actor mentioned that it is "really exciting" how they will make the world of comics and what happens in the Marvel Cinematic Universe work.

Tony Stark and his possible return in 'Armor Wars'

In Armor Wars for Disney Plus, the series will address the question of what would happen if Tony Stark's technology fell into the wrong hands. The series was revealed during Disney's Investor Day by Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios.

The original Armor Wars saga was published by Marvel Comics between 1997 and 1998. In it, Tony Stark and Scott Lang (Ant-Man) discover that Spymaster stole technology from Stark Enterprises. Later, Stark teams up with James Rhodes to eliminate the villains who wear this armor.

In Iron Man 2 there is a reference to Armor Wars when Whiplash builds a reactor to power his own Mark I armor. Later, the supervillain takes control of the armor built by Justin Hammer, Stark's rival, turning them into the fearsome Hammer Drones.

For now, it is unknown when Armor Wars will be released on Disney Plus. During the Investor Day, Disney confirmed that there are 10 series of Marvel on their way to its streaming video service, but did not confirm the release dates.
