The Ryzen 7 5700G outperforms the Ryzen 9 5900X on AIDA64, 5333 MHz RAM!

AMD will launch its Ryzen 7 5700G APU in style with a spectacular performance, as we have seen in the leaked AIDA64 test. Thanks to the RAM memory overclock, it manages to outperform the Ryzen 9 5900X with 3600 MHz memories.

The news is brewing in the Chiphell forum, known for leaking exclusive or unpublished tests, where we have seen a Ryzen 7 5700G fly. It was installed on a B550 board and was accompanied with 16 GB of dual-channel RAM. Be careful with the AMD Zen 3 APUs because they come very strong, and this one has 8 cores, 16 threads and Radeon Vega graphics.

It's a bird, it's a plane ... no, it's the Ryzen 7 5700G with OC RAM

First introduce this AMD APU, a very powerful and low-power integrated graphics processor. This Ryzen 7 5700G is powered by 8 cores, 16 threads, and a maximum frequency of 4.6 GHz. It is manufactured in a 7nm TSMC process and is designed under the Zen 3 architecture.

From Chiphell, an Asian computer forum, this processor with integrated Radeon Vega graphics and a 65 W TDP has been seen. It was only accompanied by an MSI MEG B550 Unify-X board and 2 RAM memory modules of 8 GB each. (16 GB in total). The trick of this performance is summarized in 3 keys:

  • A Cezanne Zen 3 APU, which comes as a monolithic chip, that is, without chiplets. This makes it an ideal processor for extreme overclocking in RAM.
  • A motherboard known for its RAM memory overclocking capabilities.
  • 2 modules overclocked at 5333 MHz and a latency CL14.

Say that the brand or model of the RAM memory modules is not specified, but the FCLK is specified, which is fixed at 2.5 GHz. The initial configuration of these modules was at 4333 MHz with CL14-15-15-28 timings. Afterward, it went up to 5000 MHz with CL16 and later to 5333 MHz with latency CL18.

The FCLK was synchronized to obtain an Infinity frequency of 2367 MHz, but how is it possible that they achieve these frequencies? Well, we must highlight the importance of the monolithic chip, as well as the memory controller that the AMD APUs have. The last RAM overclock record was 6666 MHz and was done on a Renoir APU (Ryzen 4000).

The results obtained in AIDA64 by this Ryzen 7 5700G are:

  • Read: 69,278 MB / s.
  • Write: 69,380 MB / s.
  • Latency: 44.4 ns.

These results are brutal, and to give them more context, highlight those obtained by the Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 9 5900X. Not only does it far exceed them in reading or writing, but in latency, it is almost 20 ns below the Ryzen 9 5900X, brutal!

Obviously, this is a very specific test on RAM, so it does not mean that this APU achieves brutal FPS in video games. However, be careful, because there have been tests in which it demonstrated a very good performance in video games.

The screenshots we show you are from the PUBG, Wolfestein Young Blood and Cyberpunk 2077 games. The Ryzen 7 5700G APU was tested at 4.4 GHz with an RX 6900 XT in 1080p .

Departure date and price

The announcement of the Ryzen 7 5700G APU is set for the first quarter of 2021, so it may see the light in the month of March. Regarding its price, it may be around € 400-500, but there is nothing confirmed yet.

What do you think of this Ryzen 7 APU? Do you think it will be a best seller?
