The most anticipated game releases for February 2021

This beginning of the year has finally come to show the power of new generation consoles, with some of the first exclusive options for new video games coming into our hands. In February, it's Sony's turn to show what the PlayStation 5 can do in an arena of destruction, fun, and madness, with Destruction AllStars being one of the highlights of the month.

The look to the past also returns strongly with the remasters of Nioh for the new platforms and the return of Super Mario 3D World in an exclusive version and with extras for the Nintendo Switch. Not to mention, of course, the genesis of games too difficult for ordinary humans, with the remake Ghosts' n Goblins Resurrection.

Without further ado, let's go to the list of the most anticipated releases for February 2021 in games:

Destruction AllStars (02 Feb 2021)

While Twisted Metal remains retired, this is Sony's new bet on vehicular combat. And if the craziness of the images has already caught your attention, know that the title comes from the hands of people with expertise in being crazy - we're talking about Lucid Games, the producer of Goat Simulator, which by itself is already completely out of the house.

The idea here is to bring that experience together with big names who worked on the Wipeout series to create a title that originally should have been on the PlayStation 5 release list. Destruction AllStars is the type of multiplayer without strings attached and with frantic matches, which promises charismatic characters and many mechanical parts flying through the scenes.

The title arrives on February 2nd exclusively for PlayStation 5 - PS Plus subscribers will be able to download it for free until April.

Nioh and Nioh 2 - The Complete Edition (05 Feb 2021)

Among the franchises that have emerged as part of the Soulslike style that has become so common in recent years, Nioh is definitely one of the most beloved and successful. By mixing Japanese folklore with a precise and full of possibilities combat, alongside a high but palatable challenge, the Bandai Namco series ended up, along with the works of From Software itself, one of the bastions of the genre.

Now, the company ends the cycle of the first two titles in the franchise with a major relaunch. On PlayStation 5, Nioh and his sequel are remastered, with graphic improvements and all the additional content released, in a package that also reaches the PC and PlayStation 4, but without the visual capabilities that are only possible in the new generation.

The two new versions of Nioh, as well as the Complete Editions for both games, arrive on February 5th. For those who already own Nioh 2 and its DLCs on PS4, the upgrade to PlayStation 5 is free.

Little Nightmares 2 (11 Feb 2021)

The mix of terror with absolutely inspired and completely unsettling art is back. Tarsier Studios continues the story of Six, this time in a corporate option that promises to increase the complexity of puzzles and challenges while exploring a city of individuals addicted to television.

Little Nightmares 2 is one of those games that carry a lot of meaning to each screen, delivering remarkable and scary moments. At the same time, the addition of the cooperative mode and monsters that dialogue a lot with the world of technology and media consumption brings more than just dangers, but also a speech that deserves to be heard.

The title arrives on February 11 on PC, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One, also with versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (12 Feb 2021)

Part of the 35-year anniversary of the most beloved plumber in the world, the new version of one of the Wii U classics appears with a series of novelties, including online multiplayer support, the use of Amiibos, and gameplay improvements. The main addition, however, is the new campaign with the Bowser more pistol than ever.

In Bowser's Fury, Mario arrives at Lake Lapcat to stop his classic opponent, who has turned into a juice of hatred by the action of a black substance. The opponent's attacks modify the scenario while the player searches the place for secrets and completes the levels, with the right to battles with giant characters.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury arrives on February 12, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.

Persona 5 Strikers (23 Feb 2021)

Japanese RPG fans need no introduction when it comes to the biggest Atlus game in recent years, with award nominations and a legion of worshipers, cosplayers and artists. In deciding to make a sort of sequel to the title, the company teamed up with Omega Force to bring something different.

Persona 5 Strikers can be defined as a junction between the title and the Dinasty Warriors franchise, one of the main exponents of the musou style. The result is a stylish hack and slash, with an air of strategy through the tactical positioning of characters and dungeons full of puzzles and secrets to be discovered.

Persona 5 Strikers arrive on February 23 in PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions.

Ghosts' n Goblins: Resurrection (25 Feb 2021)

This is a game that already made players pull their hair out before it became "cool". In one of the greatest arcade and console classics of the 1980s and 1990s, Arthur's quest to rescue his princess from the forces of evil made him literally risk his own pants to move on.

The result was one of Capcom's most classic franchises and, like so many others, it was a bit lost. With Ghosts' n Goblins Resurrection, the company wants to relive this challenging adventure with a focus on new and old players, with the right to different customizations of difficulty and modern graphics, even if referring to the originals.

Ghosts' n Goblins Resurrection arrives on February 25 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.

Bravely Default II (26 Feb 2021)

This is a Japanese RPG so traditional that it even follows that classic confusion of names and numbers that, from time to time, differentiated the eastern and western markets. The adventure of the time, on a continent divided between five kingdoms, puts the player in the shoes of one of four characters, with different abilities as well as backgrounds, ranging from archers and mercenaries to refugees and scholars.

Contrary to what the name implies, here we have a new story, which is not a continuation of the first Bravely Default nor its direct sequence, Bravely Second. Despite this, the artistic air and turn-based gameplay of the previous titles remain here, as well as the character classes that suit each player's style.

Bravely Default II arrives on February 26 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
