Nvidia Announces Financial Results ... And ARM Acquisition Is Going Well

Nvidia released today its financial results for the Fourth Quarter of 2020 (which for Nvidia ends on January 31), in addition to all the financial results harvested in 2020. Perhaps most interesting of all, is that the company's own CEO, Jensen Huang, indicated that the ARM acquisition was progressing apace.

A quick summary is that the company made 61 percent more money compared to Q4 2019, which translates to $ 5 billion compared to $ 3.11 billion. If we compare it with Q3 2020, it only generated 6 percent more money, so the shortage of silicon slowed its growth.

"The fourth quarter has been another record quarter, culminating a banner year for Nvidia computing platforms. Our pioneering work in the field of accelerated computing has led to games becoming the world's most popular entertainment, to for supercomputing to be democratized for all researchers as AI emerges as the most important force in technology, "said Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of Nvidia.

"The demand for GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs is incredible. The Nvidia RTX brand has entered a major upgrade cycle as gamers make the leap to RayTracing, DLSS and AI.

Our universal GPUs for AI data centers, the Nvidia A100, are growing strongly among cloud service providers and vertical industries. Thousands of companies around the world are applying Nvidia AI to create cloud-connected products with AI services that will transform the world's largest industries. We are seeing the moment of the smartphone for all industries.

Mellanox has expanded our footprint in the data center. And we are making good progress towards the acquisition of ARM, which will create huge new opportunities for the entire ecosystem."
