Microsoft officially acknowledges the Win10 21H1 update for the first time: There is no change in hardware compatibility

According to past rules, Windows 10 is about to usher in a major update of the 21H1 version this year, but Microsoft officials have never recognized this update. In the recently released preview version of the Win10 system, Microsoft showed some new interface designs. According to foreign media Neowin, Microsoft published an article on its official technical forum yesterday, introducing the hardware compatibility of the Windows 10 21H1 version, but did not disclose more information.

The article mentioned the content of the new system Windows Hardware Compatibility Program (WHCP) hardware compatibility program. Compared with 20H2, the hardware compatibility of Win10 21H1 has not changed. Any device after Windows 10 2004 version can be compatible with 21H1. There is no change in driver signature, Errata, and license.

The article also stated that Windows 10 2004, 20H2, and 20H1 all use the same WHCP hardware compatibility environment. Therefore, manufacturers do not need to repeat compatibility tests to install the Win10 21H1 OEM version for future computer hardware. The computers on sale can also be seamlessly connected to 21H1, without the trouble of driver compatibility. However, the details will not be known until 21H1 is officially on sale.

Earlier, a Microsoft developer revealed the release date of Win10 21H1. The new version of Windows is expected to be released in June 2021.
