Global Vivo X60 series will use Snapdragon 870 instead of Exynos 1080

In late December, the Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro flagship phones were unveiled in China. Reports indicate that its arrival in the global market is quite close . The X60 series debuted Samsung's new Exynos 1080 chipset. Now, new reports point out that the global versions of the Vivo X60 series would use a Qualcomm chipset .

The source of the leak is the MySmartPrice medium. According to what they point out in their post, two Vivo devices with model numbers V2045 and V2046 were listed on the Google Play Console. We have known for a long time that these models belong to the Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro, respectively.

The Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro will have a Snapdragon 870 in the global market

In China, both the X60 and X60 Pro enjoy the powerful "pseudo flagship" Samsung Exynos 1080 chipset. However, the console listing suggests that international versions could make use of the Snapdragon 870 (Qualcomm SM8250ac) hardware platform. In addition, iQOO (Vivo's gaming sub-brand) is also preparing a device with the same chipset for China: the iQOO Neo5.

The aforementioned list shows that the X60 series will make use of a screen with a resolution of 2376 × 1080 pixels, up to 12 GB of RAM and will run the Android 11 operating system. Taking into account Vivo's recent plan, these global models would make use of the Funtouch custom layer instead of the newer OriginOS.

It has also been seen on Geekbench

Another thing that gives this leak a lot of strength is that the model number V2046 (Vivo X60 Pro) was also detected by going through the tests of the popular Geekbench CPU benchmark. In tests, the device appears with the motherboard "Kona", which corresponds to the Snapdragon 870 chipset.

In addition to the aforementioned chip change, Vivo is expected to maintain the rest of the technical specifications that we already saw in the original versions of the X60 and X60 Pro. This means that they should arrive with a 6.56-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution and rate of refresh 120Hz, a front camera of 32MP and rapid load 33W.

The Standard and Pro variants of the series differ in terms of rear camera and battery. The regular X60 features a 48MP main lens, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 13MP telephoto sensor (2x optical zoom). On the other hand, the X60 Pro adds an 8MP periscope lens to the previous configuration. Finally, the X60 and X60 Pro will have 4,300mAh and 4,200mAh batteries, respectively.
