Apple's new Chrome extension lets you store and use iCloud passwords on Windows

Apple has released a new browser extension, iCloud Passwords, for the Chrome web browser on macOS and Windows. With its help, users will be able to store and use iCloud passwords not only on devices with macOS, but also on computers running Windows.

The presented extension will be useful for people who do not use third-party password managers and are used to interacting with iCloud Keychain. This tool comes in handy if the user has to regularly switch between macOS and Windows computers.

The extension supports strong passwords automatically generated in the Safari browser. Passwords created in this way will be available in Chrome too. In addition, passwords saved in Chrome are also synced with iCloud so that they can be used on Apple devices.

The iCloud Passwords extension is already available to everyone in the official online store of add-ons for the Chrome browser. It is worth noting that details about the functionality of the new extension were revealed a few days before its official launch. Last week, an update to the iCloud app for the Windows 10 platform was released, in the description of which support for the iCloud Password extension for Chrome was mentioned as a new feature.
