Windows 10X comes without the pre-installed mail and calendar app

Windows 10X should now be ready. Initial speculations that it will be 20279 have not been confirmed. Microsoft put the 20280 behind.

But it is interesting, as Zac Bowden reports, that Windows 10X comes without a pre-installed mail and calendar app. If you want this app, you have to install it from the Microsoft Store. This will certainly also have something to do with the new Outlook app, which should appear as a preview at the end of 2021.

We'll have to wait and see if it really stays that way. Windows 10X will only be distributed to OEMs. Microsoft will make GUI changes here, which will then also be integrated with the "normal" Windows 10. If the mail and calendar app is not preinstalled, one could dream that Microsoft will finally realize that it might be better to ship Windows 10 without the many (most) preinstalled apps.

Compared to earlier, we already have a large number of apps that you can simply remove with a right-click after installation. But it would be better if they weren't even installed at all. Would certainly accommodate the size of the ISO.

Let us surprise ourselves. Real changes for us will only come with Windows 10 21H2 in autumn. Because the Windows 10 21H1 will only contain relatively minor changes.
