The release of the Odyssey add-on for Elite: Dangerous postponed due to the pandemic

Frontier Developments has announced more details on the Odyssey expansion for Elite: Dangerous in a blog post. The developers said that due to the coronavirus pandemic, they must adjust the DLC release date.

Now the release of the PC version is expected in late spring, and for consoles, the add-on will be released only in the fall. Also, in the beginning, alpha testing will be launched for owners of Deluxe Alpha and Lifetime Expansion Pass, which will gradually be updated with new content.

Odyssey will be the largest DLC in Elite: Dangerous history, allowing players to land on planets in search of populated settlements and fight on the surface in a mode involving ground vehicles and spaceships.

Frontier previously said that Odyssey will not support VR mode at launch, but it is possible that the feature will appear in the future.
