The new platform will deliver 100% performance improvement over Snapdragon 460
Today, the announcement of the new Snapdragon 480 5G SoC is expected, which will bring excellent performance and connectivity to some smartphones.
The new Snapdragon 480 5G SoC will be manufactured using an 8nm manufacturing process and will include an eight-core Kryo 460 CPU clocked at up to 2GHz. The source claims that the new platform will provide a 100 percent increase in performance over the previous generation Snapdragon 460. The Snapdragon 480 5G is powered by an Adreno 619 GPU.
The source also added that the Snapdragon 480 5G mobile platform will support displays with refresh rates up to 120Hz. This means that inexpensive smartphones with 120 Hz screens will appear on the market soon.
The Snapdragon 480 5G SoC is also expected to support Wi-Fi 6.
