Settlements in Elite Dangerous: Odyssey will not sit unprotected during bombing raids

While Star Citizen hasn't even made it to beta testing, Elite Dangerous continues to grow in the meat and features that Chris Roberts and CIG boasted about in general.

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey - will be one of the largest updates for the space simulator, and among other things, the content will be settlements, which should become the place of battles, both on the ground and using spaceships. However, don't expect these towns to sit around while they are bombarded.

During the fan Q&A session, Studio Frontier shared details of how planetary base residents can fend for themselves:

The defense of the settlements is very serious. If you do not disable it first, then you will find that you are left without your Orca boat ...

The developers said that hypothetically, the player will be able to start bombing all living things in the city, but the settlements will gradually begin to call for reinforcements. The support is not endless and players will have the opportunity to turn the location into a ghost town, but this will require patience and strong armor.

It also became known that settlements can have several statuses: abandoned, active, in a state of war, damaged or disabled. By intentionally de-energizing the settlement, players can enter forbidden territories, and hacking the defense will allow comrades to carry out raids.

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey will be released on PC in late spring. The console version will only be available in the fall.
